The next Generation of the Mercedes Benz C-Class is undergoing testing at the Nurburgring track in Germany quite frequently. This shows Daimler is committed to making this is a decent handling car to rival the new BMW 3-Series. However, despite the frequency of the sightings, we’ve never been able to capture a glimpse of the styling of the car.
That’s because the next generation C-Class is always hidden behind heavy plastic covers to obscure the view of its design. Under the camo is a new styling direction for Mercedes, one which will be inspired by the 800 concept shown in 2010 (photo on the left).

Various reports have suggested that Mercedes will use new three-cylinder turbo engines in the C-Class, but the latest four-cylinder units should still be useful in combination with cylinder deactivation systems.

Either way, the body of the new W205 C-Class will be much lighter, which should also help with fuel economy.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
