Our spy photographers have for the first time managed to capture the interior of the brand new Mercedes Benz C-Class, a four-door saloon expected to arrive in 2013 or later to do battle with BMW’s market leader the 3-Series.
But first let’s talk about the body of the car, which is also revolutionary in the way it’s based on the F800 concept show at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The front grille, lights and bar are all similar to the concept, but the roof isn’t because Mercedes needs to play it safe with their top selling sedan.
The interior will be simpler than ever before. This might not be to everyone’s liking, but the infotainment display sits on top in a fashion similar to the A-Class and more recently the G-Class. Other than that, we don’t foresee many big changes for the C-Class interior that deviate from the current design language. But as per usual, close attention will be payed to the way all the switches work, ensuring they all feel the same and offer the mandatory luxury people expect from this brand.
The C-Class sedan you see here will be the first to hit the market, followed by the Wagon body A year or so should pass until Mercedes also launches the new Coupe and Convertible. Rumor has it they are also developing a Midsize Sports Tourer (MST) basically a crossover vehicle that’s a bit like the R-Class.
