These are the very first spy shots we bring you of the next generation of Hyundai Santa Fe, a crossover that become a best-seller for the Korean carmaker in Europe, but could do with a makeover to keep up with the new Kia Sportage, and ever stiffening competition from Opel.
What you see here is the European model testing in the Alps, showing more aggressive looks at the front and the same sort of grille arrangement as the new i30 hatchback.

At the heart of the rejuvenated engine range should be a 2.2-liter diesel with a bit under 200 horsepower, but since Hyundai has made big progress with the its normally aspirated gasoline units, something like the 1.6 GDI unit in the Veloster could sell remarkably well.

The US version of the crossover is bound to get a improved 2.4 four-cylinder engine and Hyundai's GDI technology, coupled to both six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.
