BMW is giving the X1 a mid-cycle facelift, not only because it’s served them well in Europe, but also because the model will officially make its US market debut at next month’s New York International Auto Show, together with the M6 Convertible.
Our photographers have once again managed to capture the prototype for the 2013 model year that should be launched by the end of summer. It’s been bestowed with new bumpers an updated set of headlights with changes similar to those on the X6 facelift and a few slight touches to the grille.
In the US, the X1 will be launched with the new 2.0-liter turbo producing 240 hp for the xDrive28i. It’s also rumored the M Performance model will be launched - an M35i xDrive, powered by a six-cylinder turbo.
In order to make it cheaper than the X3, BMW might actually sell it with the 184 hp 2.0-liter gas engine as well in America.
