If you have been following the story, you know by now German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is working on a facelifted version of the current CL model, a version which will likely return to the S-Klasse Coupe designation.
Whereas, in the beginning of the month, we brought you the first set of spyshots, showing a white CL, it is now time to look at its darker side, with these up-close and personal shots taken in a parking lot. Unfortunately, nothing new about the car surfaced to go along with the spyshots.
As we said, the facelift will bring with it revisions to both ends of the car, with the CL likely to get a redesigned bumper with a revised grille, split with a single bar. The front lights will be changed with LED daytime headlights, which will also be featured at the rear, where the bumper will receive only minor refinements.
Being only a facelift, regardeless of the name change, the future S-Klasse Coupe will bring only minor additions to the engine line. The car will boast the same V8 and V12 units featured on the current generation, tweaked however with the latest developments from Stuttgart in terms of fuel efficiency. Some say the unit fitted onto the S400 Hybrid may find a way in the future S-Coupe as well,
Of course, AMG versions are to be expected. AMG will likely squeeze a bit more power from under the hood of the S-Klasse, while providing at the same time better fuel economy.
The release date is said to be sometimes in mid 2010, so keep an eye out for further updates.
