Chevrolet Bel Air and Impala embraced different paths in 1959 when the latter gained series status, though the two models continued to share almost everything, including the styling and the engine choices.
However, the Impala became the model spearheading Chevy's push, coming with the best the GM brand could offer for any model year. The Bel Air was the plan B for most buyers, though it remained a solid choice for anyone looking for a full-size car not as expensive as an Impala.

A 1960 Bel Air that has recently been the subject of a complete restoration made its way to eBay earlier this week, trying to find a new home where it can hide from horrible things like rain and snow.

The car is nearly a perfect 10, though it still requires a few occasional touches. The professional restoration job took care of everything, from looks to the mechanical part. The paint is gorgeous, but seller mcintyre7144 admits the next owner will have to take care of a few little road chips. You won't find any rust or rot, and the photos showing the car on a lift confirm it. However, you'll want to have everything inspected in person, so if you can, inspect the undersides on your own, as dealing with even the tiniest rust spot is critical from the moment it shows up.

The interior is spotless, flawless, mesmerizing, you name it. Everything is in tip-top shape, so the Bel Air feels like a new car when you jump behind the wheel.

The engine under the hood could make some people walk away. It's in spotless shape and is paired with a rebuilt Powerglide transmission, but unfortunately, it's not the massive V8 muscle you expected. The Bel Air comes with a six-cylinder engine, and we all know that most people are interested in massive V8 power.

Unfortunately, there's no way to deal with this, but if you're interested in a true gem, you'll probably ignore the engine and get the Bel Air anyway.

The good news is that the six-cylinder makes the Bel Air more affordable, as a V8 in tip-top shape would have made the car a lot more expensive, especially if it was a big-block unit.

The Bel Air can be yours for $34,500 with the current drivetrain, but the owner also activated the Make Offer option. In theory, they might be looking into your offer, but they also claim that whoever pays $34,500 can take the car home on the spot. If you want to show the Bel Air to your wife to convince her you need a new pile of metal to sit in your garage for eternity, you must travel to Lanesville, Indiana. You should be able to drive the car home on its wheels after the purchase.
