The Ferrari 599XX has been around for a while now and really needs no introduction.However, for those who don’t know, it’s an ultra-expensive racing version of the 599 which can only be driven on a track when Ferrari ‘feel like’ letting the owners have a go.
We should be thankful to have heard the glorious V12 sound of the 599XX, as such cars are rapidly (and justifiably) being replaced with hybrids and EVs. In ten years’ time, the 599XX and all others like it will start to die out, and replacements for these cars will still be as quick, but they won’t be accompanied by a V12 bellow, replacing it with the ‘woosh’ of an electric motor or the strained, constantly-at-maximum-rpm effect of a range extender engine which will probably have less than four cylinders.
We will be watching this video years from now, bursting with nostalgia, but we will be thankful that HD had become very mainstream at the time, thus enabling people like Marchettino to capture excellent quality footage like this, for us and future generations to enjoy.
