Spacious Toyota Verso-S Now Available in the UK

Toyota has re-entered the B-MPV segment with the Verso-S, an all-new model that has made its world debut at the Paris Auto Show last September, and that has now reached UK shores as well. The British division of the automaker has also revealed pricing for the new model, which retails from GBP13,995 for the TR variant and from GBP14,995 for the T Spirit version.

While promoting the new Verso-S to British potential customers, Toyota has mostly focused on the vehicle’s inside space and load capacity, as well as on the fact that this is the only model in class to provide additional one-touch rear seat folding controls in the boot.

However, taking these features one at a time, we find that the overall Verso-S is less than four metres (157-inch) long, it has a 2,550mm (100 inch) wheelbase, but it offers some 336 liters of loadspace with the rear seats in place. The rear seats are divided 60:40 and have a simple one-touch flat-fold mechanism.

In addition, the deckboard can be moved between two positions to suit loading requirements. The lower level increases the load depth by 120mm (4.72 inch) and overall capacity by another 57 litres. Furthermore, on T Spirit models, which come with a tire repair kit, the loadspace is taken up to 429 litres. Finally, with the rear seats folded flat, the VDA measurement for load-carrying extends to a maximum 1,388 litres.

Around the cabin there are 19 separate storage points, including door pockets, bottle and cupholders, a tray beneath the front passenger seat and a three-level dashboard compartment.
