Guess somebody here had a dream one day to transform one of the most boring hatchbacks in the history into a turbocharged and NOS fed sleeper car.
That guy is Rick and the car is a 1996 Toyota Starlet that we met earlier, the Group X 3 door version to be specific that was sold in Australia until 1998. However, the standard vehicle fitted with a 1.3-liter four cylinder engine wasn’t exactly defined by sportiness. It was only a three door hatch made to take you from A to B each day.

But Rick’s little Starlet is a bit more than that. Although it looks completely stock, including the plastic interior, its heart tells another story. The 1.5-liter engine offered in another trim level has been dropped into its engine bay and fitted with a Turbonetics turbocharger, nitrous system, a Starlet 1.3-liter GT head, custom ECU, ignition system and more.

The result? Well, the dyno showed 411 hp at the front wheels and its drag times revolve around 11 seconds. Sounds a bit too much for a car its size fitted with that amount of power, but remember that all is going to the front tires, which despite their size are still not enough to make the most out of the power.
