Sheryl Crow auctioned her 1959 Mercedes SL for charity in order to help the tornado-affected schools in Joplin, Missouri, managing to raise $260,000 for the cause, as Reuters writes.
The classic open-air Mercedes went under the hammer in August, being bought by a couple who wanted to remain anonymous. The two payed $130,000 for the car and chose to donate another $130,000 for the cause. The singer also offers the generous couple one of her Gibson guitars.

We’ll remind you that the tornado we are talking about killed 162 people on May 22, when it destroyed Joplin High School and two other schools, with damages totaling over $150 million.
