You may remember us posting a picture of an alleged larger version of the now-launched Fiat 500L MPV. Well, the 7-seater version of the 500 L has now resurfaced, thanks to a few patent drawings, courtesy of jokeforblog.blogspot.com.
They show a vehicle which is strikingly similar to the one in the older picture and if Fiat do decide to put this into production, they will come very close to equaling the very high level of ugly at which the old Multipla was situated - at least that was different.
While we can live with the 500 L, it is bordering on being unpleasant to look at. This XL model crosses the line, and if it does get made, it will have to compensate for its aesthetic shortcomings, by giving prospective buyers a good, reliable and economical way not to buy a Renault Grand Espace or Citroen Grand C4 Picasso.
If it is the real deal, we would expect Fiat to bring it to Paris to gauge public opinion. We say people to be displeased by its bloated appearance.
