Powered by the torquiest production V8 engine on the planet, the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG 4Matic is currently the fastest-accelerating luxury sedan out there, with only the Audi S8 getting close as far as official specs are concerned.
Internally codenamed M157, the twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 underneath that massive hood is good for 585 hp and 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque. To put into perspective, that's quite a bit more than a Ferrari 458 Italia.

Paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission with a multi-clutch arrangement instead of the usual torque converter and AMG-tuned 4Matic all-wheel drive, the S 63 AMG 4Matic can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in four seconds flat.

Just a few years ago, this level of performance was only available in true-blooded sports cars, not in luxury sedans with massaging seats, but things have apparently evolved quite a great deal from this point of view.

Still, the S 63 AMG 4Matic is not all about neck-breaking acceleration numbers from a dig, as our own test drive with a similar model has proved us.

The way that those 900 Nm (664 lb ft) are transported via the all-wheel system to the pavement is truly something to be experienced, as the outrageous level of comfort and plethora of gadgets behind the wheel are never outclassed by the back of your head hitting the seat.

There is currently no other car out there that can pamper pretty much all your senses at such a high level while hitting highly illegal speeds in such a short time.
