Sebastian Vettel Orders Custom Motorcycle to Celebrate Title

Reigning F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel decided to treat himself with a special gift that comes to celebrate his 2010 title. "All I can say is; I have it ordered but it hasn't arrived yet. So you'll have to work a bit harder," he told the media, according to a report from the GMM news agency.

According to the aforementioned source, Germany's Bild newspaper found out that advised by his friend, Kimi Raikkonen, Vettel has ordered a EUR100,000 custom Hardcore motorcycle built by Marcus Walz.

The custom bike that is being built especially for Vettel is based on the 120 horsepower Avalanche model, and it will reportedly be ready in September.

“With our new bike Avalanche, we have developed another sophisticated, spectacular and extreme bike which primarily focuses on drivability and function. Other people can keep constructing show and trail bikes that can’t be driven! After all, there is a good reason why the slogan “From follows Function has been an important part of our philosophy since the beginning of our company,” Marcus Walz says.

“The Avalanche is our current promotion bike in which we consequentially integrate exclusive parts from our own production and sales (with the exception of the engine and gears of course). All mounted parts on the bike can be ordered and procured separately or in various kit versions in the usual way,”
adds Walz.

The Avalanche uses a Rampage chassis kit, has a 1780mm (70 inch) wheelbase, a seat height of 470mm/18.5 inch (with Air-Ride released, customized position of the footrest system and handlebars, the oil tank is accommodated in the spoiler, and the exhaust system runs 100% parallel to the primary base plate.

Stopping power is provided by 4-piston radial brake magnesium calipers from Brembo, while the headlight is borrowed form a HD V-Rod.
