SEAT is starting to put the Leon Cup Racer, introduced earlier this year, to good use. The company has announced the 2014 Eurocap season, a six-event development.
We are talking about a revival here, with the SEAT Leon Supercopa, which worked as a support series for the WTCC, having ended with the 2010 season. This worked as a proving grounds for the WTCC, with multiple drivers preparing for the famous series here.
For the 2014 season, customers will get the new Leon Cup Racer. This uses the new SEAT Leon as a starting point (the five-door version). Power comes from a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 330 HP. The racer is offered for a price of EUR70,000 plus VAT.
This is all part of a bigger plan that will see SEAT return to WTCC, where the company last raced back in 2009. SEAT vehicles will compete in the 2014 WTCC, in the new TC2 category, but not as a factory team.
