Assuming everybody sees us when riding a bike in traffic is one of the worst ideas which can come into mind. In fact, any rider in his or her right mind would do exactly the opposite, acting as if they were invisible... because they really are, at least to some other motorists.

It's more than too often when we have to deal with severe accidents caused by motorists who did not see the two-wheeler, so riders are the only ones who can really care for themselves.
And with car drivers who sometimes swipe in their lane, attempting to pass while sharing the same space is a sure way to crash and put a premature end to the day's ride. A thing which unfortunately happens quite a lot on the streets around the globe, including this Asian town. At least the rider was not hurt and was also lucky enough to not be run over by a car approaching from behind.
