Can’t really tell where this style of fitting you car with different model/color wheels came from, but I think it all started when Japanese drifters started to fit their cars’ rear axle with second-hand wheels to burn them while practicing. And then someone must have said that this kind of careless look is pretty cool.
The trend gained a lot of followers a few years ago, but it slowly started to fade away these days, as everybody is crazy about deep-dish, precision-cut, massive-camber wheels instead.
