After stepping down from Formula 1 racing last year and becoming an ambassador for AMG, Michael Schumacher is set to join Mercedes-Benz's road car development team.
According to Mercedes AMG Formula 1 team principal Ross Brawn, the seven time World Champion will be involved in the advance of road performance cars. "The development of models, particularly high-performance cars, is something he enjoys very much," Ross Brawn said to Autocar.

Michael Schumacher's early return to Mercedes-Benz as a fine-tuning specialist is a bit surprising, but the German driver is basically getting back to things he has already done in the past.

The former Formula 1 driver helped with the development of several Ferrari models during his contract with the Maranello automaker, including the Enzo-based FXX, which, of course, has a Schumacher Edition, and the 458 Italia.

The German driver decided to quit Formula 1 last year after another disappointing season with Mercedes, being replaced by Lewis Hamilton.
