Schumacher Joined by Doctors at Valencia

Michael Schumacher showed some impressive pace during the first day of testing on Valencia's Ricardo Tormo Circuit, but the journalists present at the Spanish track did wonder at a certain time whether the German returnee will complete his first running of the W01 without any medical problems.

And that's because the Mercedes driver did not come to Valencia alone, but joined by his personal doctor Johannes Peil. Additionally, Schumacher also brought his physiotherapist Kai Schnapka to the Spanish venue, just to make sure everything will go down smooth.

I'm superstitious, so we wait and see,” said Peil, when asked by the reporters about his inquiries over Schumacher's neck condition in the W01 cockpit.

Schuey climbed at the wheel of the W01 for the first time on Monday, but when he got out on the track, it felt like he wasn't gone from the series for the past 3 years. The German actually outpaced his younger teammate Nico Rosberg by a massive 6 tenths of a second, as he drove the car in the afternoon (when the weather was better for testing).

According to Germany's Bild newspaper, the doctors cleared Schumacher for testing and further checks after the afternoon meeting revealed that there was nothing wrong with his neck throughout the Monday action.

Schumacher will return to Formula One action during the last day of testing on the Valencia circuit, as Rosberg is scheduled to drive Mercedes' 2010 challenger though the entire testing session on Tuesday.
