Chevrolet Nova debuted in 1962 with four- and six-cylinder engines. While the GM brand did not offer a V8 option on the first Novas, aftermarket updates were common, as buyers wanted a more potent engine under the hood.
The need for a V8 unit became more evident after the introduction of the SS package in 1963, with Chevrolet eventually getting the message and introducing a more powerful unit in 1964.

However, the Nova remained a customer favorite for aftermarket upgrades. And because many buyers wanted a more powerful engine, V8 upgrades remained common. This 1962 Nova got one of the best possible units.

The car has recently been restored, and the project included massive upgrades, including the engine under the hood. eBay seller primoclassicsint described the vehicle as "scary fast," pointing to the all-new 454ci mill in charge of putting the wheels in motion as the reason. The full list of upgrades is available on eBay, and if you're interested in the technical details and want the car, you should check it out.

The highlights include Rectangle Port Hi-Performance heads, a polished Edelbrock intake and air cleaner, dual Edelbrock carburetors, and a Richmond 5-speed transmission. The car rides on a CPP front suspension system and now sports front disc brakes.

The car's condition is spotless, so it doesn't need anything. It's enough to hop behind the wheel and drive it, though the seller reminds buyers that this Nova is "not for the faint of heart," considering its performance figures.

The paint looks flawless, but there's something else you must know – and which I must clarify before most readers rush to the comment section to blame me for the error. The car comes with SS tags, though this Nova wasn't born with the Super Sport package. As I said earlier, the Super Sport package was launched in 1963, so the SS tags on this 1962 model year are there mainly to highlight its performance appetite.

The number of miles on the odometer makes sense, considering the Nova has recently been restored. The car has only 10K miles on the clock, so it's almost a new Nova, albeit it's important to remember that the engine under the hood is not the original unit that came with the car.

I wish we knew more about the selling price, as the owner posted it on eBay with a reserve. The digital fight has reached $23,000, with seven people fighting to take the car home. However, the reserve's value is unknown, so nobody knows how high the bidding must go to take this Nova home. Meanwhile, the car keeps sleeping in Lakeland, Florida, and considering its shape, you should be able to drive it home on its wheels.
