For those new to the “hagwalah” thing, it’s a form of drifting popular in Saudi Arabia, which uses front-wheel-drive sedans instead rear-wheel more powerful sportscars.
Hagwalah is much less controllable than standard drifting and more dangerous, with daredevils doing it between or alongside other road users on the highway. Sometimes they even ride on two wheels to complete the show.
Now that you’ve been introduce to the phenomenon, the Saudi National Day is approaching and Arabs have started practicing their hagwalah skills on public roads, using mostly Toyota models, in order to celebrate the full event next Monday. Or at least, that’s what we understood.
More than 1,000 traffic officers will be deployed to keep things under control. See what’s going on in the video bellow.
