Santa's Ride... from Wyked Illuzionz

With a “Be Safe ... Be Seen” motto, Maryland-based Wyked Illuzionz is trying to reach up to the motorcycle community each year in May - the month of the ‘Motorcycle Safety Awareness’ - through their LED (light emitting diode) lights products, designed to make this kind of vehicles more visible to the other traffic participants.

It's already a well-known fact that motorcyclists have a problem with their on-road visibility, which is in most cases the crash cause. That is why Wyked Illuzionz sells and installs LED  lights on motorcycles, in order to actively promote such lighting as a safety issue.

We became curious and just when we were about to congratulate them for the idea, we took a look at a couple of works they did. Well, let's just say the idea was the only good thing they came up with. Our eyes were in great pain. We're not sure if it's a motorcycle motorist will think of when they see one of those LED up rides. It looks more like a Christmas tree... on wheels. Not even Santa's sleigh is like that. We almost started hearing 'Jingle Bells' in our heads.

It all started in June 2008 when installing certain LED lighting on motorcycles became legal in Maryland, so Wyked Illuzionz took the opportunity not only to promote this kind of safety solutions, but also to make a business out of it. Therefore, they have ‘lighten up’ the audience at Cycos Motorcycle Apparel In Gambrills, MD on May 2nd and Twisted Souls Motorcycle Club Blessing of the Bikes in Harmans, MD on May 3rd.

They have already announced their presence at the Charm City Bike Fest at the American Legion Youth Camp in Cheltenham, MD on May 9th; ABATE of Maryland (Baltimore Chapter) Spring Bike Show in Parkton, MD on May 17th; and the Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department’s Motorcycle Rally in Lineboro, MD on May 23rd. Great work guys, kill their eyes as you've killed ours!

According to Wyked Illuzionz, LED’s require very little power, they don’t vibrate off, and they are waterproof. For more dexterous bikers, the company is also providing a ‘Do It Yourself’ kit and telephone support during the installation process as well.

No offense, we understand the safety issue, we salute the idea of making your rides more visible, but is it really necessary to do it like that? You aesthetic sense killers!
