After Saab went bankrupt, bought by a Chinese-Japanese company and sold its last units produced, we take a look at what they had up their sleeve before the disaster.
The automaker was planing a coupe version of the Saab 9-3 as a rival for the Audi A5, known as the Sonett . The 2+2 coupe was based on the Phoenix platform, while taking inspiration on the award-winning Aero X concept.

Power would have come from different versions of the current Mini 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, and a 4 x 4 performance version with electrically powered rear axle would have been planned.

The last 78 Saabs were auctioned at Wallhamn, near Hothenburg, on March 22nd, including 31 units of the 9-4X SUV, seven 9-5 Sportkombi and 37 9-5 Sedans.
