Saab Finally Sold?

The sad story of Saab, a manufacturer we though dead but never gave up hope on is apparently back - sort of. Apparently, National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB, which is, as we had previously reported, “a Swedish-registered company founded by a Hong Kong-based firm specialised in alternative energy and a Japanese investment fund," has reportedly bought the ailing Swedish carmaker.

Also, to qualify for the purchase of Saab, the company had to make a bid before April 7th, which it did. The winning bid is rumored to be somewhere in the region of €165 ($208) to €200 ($250) million and it does not include Saab Automobile Parts AB, which is a separate entity altogether, despite still being linked to the main company.

We just hope that the new owners properly administrate Saab, as it needs the firm arm of management to set things straight, get production running again. So, there’s a chance that they finally build the 9-5 properly - a joyous moment for all of the automotive world, surely - except their competitors.
