And the story continues... It seems like those involved in Saab's future are really planning to make the whole selling process one of the longest soap operas of this era, with lots of reports, more or less based on speculation, surrounding the future of the Swedish brand. Not a long a time ago, sources familiar with the matter hinted that Saab has stirred the interest of several investors, with representatives of the company to select the best offers.
Then, a new rumor was released, this time pointing that no one is actually interested in buying the Swedish automaker, with some officials even backing the news.
Well, here we go agin. According to an article by Autonews, Saab has already selected three possible investors to continue negotiations and reach a common point. Unfortunately, no name has been revealed so we can't really know for sure if this is just a new episode of the soap opera or not.
However, Autonews says the Swedish brand chose the three suitors from a list of 10 which was already submitted to the court in order to request three months of protection from creditors.
"Among these interested parties, three have been selected to continue negotiations on an acquisition of Saab," the company said in the document. "These negotiations will be carried out during the remainder of May in order to select the final candidate."
Still, one of the companies involved in the negotiations is also the "we'll buy all" Italian company Fiat. According to media reports, Fiat is also interested in purchasing the Swedish brand, despite the fact that it has already signed a strategic alliance with Chrysler and is now looking to finalize a deal with Opel.
