Rossi Wants to Put Indy Error Behind

Before this weekend's Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, Valentino Rossi wants to forget about his last performance at Indy and concentrate on achieving a very important win in front of his home crowd.

Valentino Rossi's home town of Tavullia is actually just a few kilometers away from the circuit. Rossi's fall registered last GP at the Brickyard, as the Indianapolis GP is known, was the Italian rider's first stumble since 2007.

Valentino Rossi still leads the championship with 25 points in front of Fiat Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo, but the Italian is very aware now of the fact that he has to push hard to win the title again this year. Rossi is especially motivated to win here at Misano since he knows the circuit well and could find the perfect bike set up.

"I’m glad we don’t have long until the next race because I quickly want to forget the mistake of Indianapolis! Last year at Misano was incredible, to win in front of all my fans and so close to home was a great emotion and after missing out in Mugello this year we are really focused on trying to get the best result there," said Rossi.

"As usual my Fan Club will make a big party there so I hope that we can give them a good show, it’s always great to ride at home. As we saw last weekend, anything can happen and the championship isn’t over, we have to keep working at the maximum and just try to take as many points as we can each time," he added.
