Rossi Vows to Win Over Ducati Fans

Leaving Yamaha for Ducati was surely Valentino Rossi's most important decision in the last few years and, although many believe he will most likely continue his impressive carrier at the Italian team, others hope to see The Doctor struggle for major achievements.

Rossi however is aware that at this time he has to fight against many Italian fans, some of them who showed their support for Ducati in the past but expressed their disapproval for seeing him joining the team.

"I'd split this group in two factions: one part is made of those who have always been against me, people who don't like me, people who supported [Max] Biaggi first, then [Sete] Gibernau, and then [Casey] Stoner," said Rossi.

"The excuse was that Casey rode for Ducati, but the truth is these people don't like me. There's not much I can do about it, I must accept this situation."

But The Doctor says he's ready to win over Ducati fans and, if there's a way to make them support him, it's by winning races and bringing the team on the first place of the podium.

"As for the other part, it's a group of Ducati fans who have always seen me as a rival, so they now struggle to accept me atop a Ducati. Overall, it's people who haven't looked at this union with favour. These are fans I would like to convince and win over with results and with the races," he concluded while emphasizing that he will try anything it's possible to attract Italian fans' support.
