Rossi Confirms Racing Career Is Possible

Often linked with a move to Formula 1, Valentino Rossi, the Italian superstar who's still one of the best riders in the MotoGP championship, admits that seeing him competing in car racing is a likely scenario but only in the end of his career. Nevertheless, Rossi admitted in an interview with autosport.com that moving to car racing is a difficult move and, even if most people are seeing him as a powerful contender, switching to cars could prove to be a tough challenge.

"I don't have a good feeling. I'm not relaxed. I am very worried about the future," he said. "For sure it is impossible for me to find something that gives me the same feeling, the same motivation and the same excitement."

"But I hope to continue for other years with bikes, while it is possible to stay at the top. After that a second part of the career with cars or if not at the same level, at a good level."

Rossi's contract with Yamaha expires after the 2010 season and the Italian hopes to continue his career in motorcycle racing even after that date. Speaking about his chances to enter car events, Rossi believes that racing for another 10 years won't be that difficult. "It's easy with a seatbelt, eh?" he said.

As for the F1 Ferrari team, Rossi is eager to have more tests with the Scuderia and denied that a move to Formula One would be possible.

"I don't know when, but I have a good relationship with them and I am always pushing team boss Stefano Domenicali, 'when you have time' like this," said Rossi. "To have the chance to drive the Ferrari Formula 1 is something important."
