Staying relevant is a hard thing to do. Just look at Motor Trend, one of the oldest surviving car magazines and arguably the most successful on Youtube. However, they are not old farts who prefer Rolls-Royce luxury over a modern Tesla.
It seems that every luxury car these days gets compared to a Model S in some way. And it was inevitable with the Dawn as well. In this episode of Ignition, MT's editor reminds us that we used to say V12 engines are as smooth as electric ones. Thanks to Tesla, we know that's not actually the case.

While the Model S is a Dremel etching machine, this is a delayed hammer. You hit the gas, wait a while and eventually, the Dawn will move towards the horizon line really fast.

Jason Cammisa has quite a few complaints about the quality. The gas cheap gas cap is worthy of a headline and so is the feel of the buttons on the steering wheel. Why does the Veyron have real aluminum switches and this can't? But the amazing quality of the leather and the extra tick carpet go some way towards making up for it.

While the navigation system is from BMW, the driving experience isn't The brakes have a traditional wooden feel to them and the throttle response in such a way as to never make the passengers sick.

Then Motor Trend decides to show what life is like from the back seat. Apparently, it's so big in the rear that you can stretch out. Although Kim K and all the other people who drive Rolls-Royces prefer to be in the front.

Editor's note: It seems that the British impersonation performed by Mister Cammisa is based on our own May B. Bach. Fascination character, not to be confused with Sir Mix-a-Lot.
