Renault announced that the company will have a new Executive Vice President, in the person of Laurence Dors.
Dors will join Renault starting from March 1 2010 and will enter a special training period. After becoming familiar with Renault’s doctrine, she will be appointed Executive Vice President on July 1 2010. At the same time, she will become a part of the Renault Executive Committee.
Dors will replace Bernand Rey in the CEO office. The latter will remain in the Renault team, taking other responsibilities within the group. Dors will be in charge of multiple projects and will report directly to Renault-Nissan Alliance’s President and CEO, Carlos Ghosn.
Laurence Dors, now 53, graduated from France’s Ecole normale Superieure and Ecole nationale d’Administation. She started her professional life in the international services of the French Ministry of Economy and Finance. After holding multiple executive management positions, she became an adviser on international economics with the French Minister of Economy Edmond Alphandery.
In 1997, she became Deputy Director of the French Foreign Economic Authority. One year later she started working for Lagardere Group’s International Division. Subsequently, she was appointed Corporate Secretary for EADS International and, starting from 2003, she became Corporate Secretary of Eads Group. In April 2008, Dors started serving for Dassault systems, where she was Senior Executive Vice President of Global Development and Resources.
Renault is a part of the Renault-Nissan alliance, established in 1999. This gives the French manufacturer a 44.4 percent stake in Nissan, while the latter owns 15 percent of Renault, but without having the right to vote. Both companies are led by Charlos Ghosn but each of the carmakers has kept its own brand identity.
