Red Bull Doesn't Plan Major Upgrades for Silverstone

Red Bull Racing have returned to their winning ways in the 2010 Formula One championship with their victorious outing in Valencia, but the team doesn't plan any major upgrades for the RB6 at Silverstone. And it's not that the Austrian team doesn't want to make it 2 in a row yet another time this season, but the development programme for this part of the season is focused on the evolution of existing parts, rather than revolutionary aerodynamic changes.

Unlike Ferrari, whose car in Valencia resembled only in a small percentage with the team's previous chassis, Red Bull will proceed to some slight tweaks for Silverstone, a race which they dominated last year from beginning to end. The modifications will be spotted on the front and rear wings, while the new F-duct system and rear diffuser developed for Valencia will be used in Great Britain too.

We won't have any large changes for the car at Silverstone, mainly small evolutionary changes to the front and rear wings. We did make some revisions for Valencia with a new diffuser and updated F-duct which all worked well, the team worked incredibly hard and Sebastian (Vettel) drove a great race,” said Red Bull's team principal Christian Horner earlier this week.

Talking about the championship fight this season, Horner made it very clear that Red Bull don't consider themselves as already winners of the 2010 campaign and, unlike Vettel – who projected a two-way fight against McLaren by the end of the season – refused to rule out Ferrari and even Mercedes GP as main contenders for the F1 crown.

We don't underestimate Ferrari and McLaren, and even Mercedes I am sure will fight back. I am sure there is a long way to go in this Championship. We are not even halfway yet,” added Horner.

Following the European GP in Valencia, Red Bull as still trailing McLaren Mercedes in the standings by 30 points, while Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber are currently 3rd and 4th in the drivers' classification.
