Raikkonen Doesn't Plan Red Bull F1 Seat in 2011 - Manager

Kimi Raikkonen has no plans of discussing his Formula One future for the time being, as confirmed by his very manager Steve Robertson during the course of this weekend. Amid reports that the Finnish driver is considering a return to F1 alongside Red Bull Racing, Robertson made it very clear that Kimi's focus is solely on his 2010 campaign in the World Rally Championship.

At this moment there are no negotiations with any teams. Currently Kimi is leaving his future open and not making any decisions,” Robertson was quoted as saying to Dutch website 4mule1.net.

Raikkonen's gig in the WRC was secured by sponsor Red Bull energy drink, as the Austrian company is also a long-time sponsor of Citroen World Rally Team in the WRC. Thanks to some strong backing from Red Bull, Raikkonen secured a full campaign in the series with Citroen's satellite Junior team.

His sudden involvement with Red Bull led to reports that Raikkonen will try to return to Formula One as a Red Bull Racing driver in 2011. He told reporters several times that he is yet to say his last word in the series and aims at winning another world title by the end of his F1 career. With Ferrari, McLaren and probably Mercedes GP already covered for the upcoming few years, Red Bull would be the only team with real chances of battling for the title in 2011.

In addition, the Austrian team will also have a spare seat a year from now, as Australian Mark Webber only signed a one-year extension to his deal earlier this season. That means his future with Red Bull is not secure from 2010 onwards, which leaves a door open for Raikkonen.
