You might remember this fellow as part of the Swedish hip hop group Avalon or as the Bumpy Ride singer, a top-ten hit in many European countries. With his second album being in the works, it would seem the 27-year artist is doing pretty good considering he just bought a BMW i8.
Mohombi Nzasi Moupondo, known professionally as Mohombi, is a Swedish-Congolese R&B singer-songwriter and dancer. He grew up in Kista near Stockholm. From 2004 to 2008 he was part of the Swedish hip hop group Avalon with his brother Djo Mouponodo. Mohobi released his debut solo single “Bumpy Ride” in August 2010. The single became a top-ten hit in many European countries, and was followed by his debut studio album, MoveMeant in February 2011.

For an aspiring artist, he managed to collaborate with the renown artists pretty fast. Mohombi featured Swedish rapper Lazee on “Do It,” which was released in Sweden on 31 May 2010. It debuted at number nine on the Swedish Singles Chart. In Los Angeles, the artist was introduced to producer RedOne, whose own background is Swedish-Moroccan.

He also featured American rapper Nelly in his Miss Me debut single in the U.S. His third single called “Dirty Situation” was released in Europe on 11 November and features R&B singer Akon. But most of you people probably know him from his short collaboration with Nicole Scherzinger on his Coconut Tree single.

Point is, Mohombi recently Twitted he got a new BMW i8, calling it his new GF, who, as far as we know, stands for girlfriend. Well, considering we’re looking at a gorgeous EUR 126,000 ($135,700) ride, is no wonder he treats it that way. We’d do the same.
