Electric bikes are becoming more and more popular among people who are looking for a smart and practical solution for getting around. And with the latest advances in e-bike performance and overall capability, these two-wheelers are also getting more powerful, subtly blurring the line between e-bikes and e-motorcycles.
Case in point, the newly-revealed Lynx electric moped built by QuietKat, a leader in the realm of off-road electric bikes for exploring the outdoors. While most of its e-bikes are rugged rides dedicated to hunters, fishers, campers, and other off-road riders, the Lynx electric moped takes the brand's powerful e-bike design to the pavement.

Technically designed as an electric bicycle, as it sports functional pedals and makes use of mostly standard bicycle components, the QuietKat Lynx steps into electric moped territory power-wise, packing a two-speed hub motor with an output of 1,000 watts.

The rear hub motor is mounted in a rear swingarm, allowing for a full-suspension setup for the two-wheeler. The battery is integrated into the downtube, but we don't know the exact capacity or the bike's top speed, as the company is yet to reveal the full tech specs.

Besides its impressive power, the Lynx also stands out through its styling. The e-bike boasts a distinctive look that blends cafe racer aesthetics with the off-road ruggedness of scramblers. The moto-inspired elements can be found in the high fender, round headlight, and well-outlined tail section.

"The Lynx establishes a new category for QuietKat, as it takes its proven off-road capabilities and blends it with a café moto style in a fun and powerful ride that is aimed for the discerning user who demands the latest technology and a premium ride," explains the company. "Able to tear up the road in style, then go further when the pavement ends, the Lynx is a fully capable off-road technical machine that can tackle the roughest terrain."

The new electric moped rides on 24 x4.5-inch fat tires, which help provide easier handling and improved traction. Together with the long-travel suspension and full-suspension frame, the choice of tires ensures the e-bike's off-road capability. Stopping power is provided by dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes.

A fixed moto-style saddle made of synthetic leather, a rear rack, LED lighting, GPS tracking, and Bluetooth connectivity via a dedicated app are also part of the specs sheet.

The Colorado-based QuietKat has been around since 2012. Over the last decade, the team has been on a mission to develop a better way to access the backcountry for hunters and anglers. The brand has established itself as a leader in rugged all-terrain electric bikes, and the latest addition to its portfolio is meant for the discerning rider who wants to travel on the pavement in style and then be able to go further into the roughest terrain if the situation asks for it.

The final tech specs for the new QuietKat Lynx are likely to be revealed closer to the e-bike's public release, which is expected to happen later this summer.
