The original Shelby Cobra combined a British chassis with American muscle and now a new project promises to alter the recipe to offer a modern reinterpretation of what was called “the widow maker”.
The American muscle will be kept, but the design will come from Italy, with the result set to be called “Puritalia”. You are now looking at the teaser of the car, with the vehicle set to make its official debut on July 1st and to enter production early next year.
Under the long hood, we’ll get a naturally aspirated V8 unit delivering 445 hp, with a supercharged version being debated. If the latter gets the green light, it should allow the driver to play with 605 hp.
Regardless of the powerplant option, the vehicle will deliver quite a punch, as it will be lightweight - it is expected to tip the scales at under 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs).
