The new M3 and M4 models are polarizing, to say the least. Every journalist out there seems to have formed his own opinion about it that is more or less accurate. We did too and found it refreshing, to say the least.
Amongst all of these different opinions, there seems to be a consensus as well, everyone praising the new seats inside the dynamic duo. They are well made, comfortable and look incredible to begin with. There’s always room for improvement though, and the guys from Precision Sport Industries might’ve just done that.
They created a new kind of trim, one that doesn’t lie on the dash, door panels or even the center console. Instead, this one covers part of the seatback. That’s right, on the M3 and M4 the seatbacks have trims.
Since the two are sporty in character, the preferred material for the end product was, of course, carbon fiber. The trims feature a 2x2 weave that matches other elements in the cabin.
Of course, compared to their plastic counterparts that come as standard on the M cars, these alternatives are a bit lighter but not by a great deal (certainly not enough to make a difference performance wise).
They do look incredible with their glossy mirror finish though and could make a big difference in your car, especially the M3 where getting in the back is easier. You can order a set right now, on their website for $1,300. That's a set for two seats (four pieces).
