PSA Reveals 301 and C-Elysee Production at Vigo Plant

In 1958 Citroen established a car plan in Spain for the domestic market. The plant grew and today it’s the largest employer in the region and the automaker’s largest factory outside france. It’s been making various models, such as the Citroen Berlingo / Peugeot Partner and the C4 Picasso.

The latest cars to be made there are the new C-Elysee sedan and Peugeot 301, which share a common platform.

This new 301, which is set to debut at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012, is meant as a budged sedan for emerging markets, such as Turkey, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Middle East and the Latin American countries.

The C-Elysee is a successor to the Elysee, a second generation model if you’d like, which is also aimed at places like and Eastern Europe.

Both come with only the most basic naturally aspirated engines the French have, and only in combination with a five-speed manual.
