The all new 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK is coming to the masses in the U.S. and the company has announced the pricing for the craved model, starting at $33,900 for the GLK 350 with rear wheel drive, slated for April.

For an extra $2,000, you can have the no brainer for the class, which is the GLK 350 with 4MATIC all wheel drive. This is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine producing 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. No matter what GLK you will have, there is a delivery fee of $875.

The GLK is Mercedes' answer to the BMW X3, the Land Rover Freelander, and the Audi Q5, which are cars based on off road show off, but without the off road bits inside of them. The GLK is based on the Mercedes C-class 4Matic and it is classed on the SUV hierarchy below the ML, GL, or G-Wagen.

This means it is a car for showing off, for people that want to look like they are going to the seaside or the mountains but instead they are going to work. The ML seems to be doing this job better than expected, so why have Mercedes bothered? The ML is $43,000 and believe it or not it can go off road for a small amount of time and on small distances. The GLK isn't capable at all of that, because as we stated earlier, it is just a C-class with raised suspension and bigger wheels.

But hey, it has a leading role in “Sex in the city”, so it's more of a symbol.
