The Porsche Panamera has been targeted by the Ohio-based tuners from Switzer Performance, who are know for delivering insane levels of power from stock engines. As you’re about to find ours, the Stutgart four-door is no exception, as it now comes with the claim of supercar hypercar speeds.

Switzer’s P680 Panamera has received new software, larger turbochargers featuring custom-billet compressor wheels along with a new intercooler which makes sure everything doesn’t overheat. Can you guess how much power the Panamera makes - 550, 570, 600? No, the V8 engine under the bonnet has been boosted to a massive 680 horsepower. In addition, the torque output has been raised to 716 lb-ft (970 Nm). Compare this to the stock 4.8-liter V8’s output of 490 hp, and you begin to realize this is no-longer a car, it’s a twin-turbo rocket.

Detailed performance specifications weren't released, but Switzer estimates the car will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (98 km/h) in 3.5 seconds, which is impressive considering it still has four seats and a boot. What’s even more astonishing is that the American tuner estimates the P680 Panamera is capable of a top speed in excess of 215 mph (346 km/h).

“Porsche gave the Panamera a robust, twin-turbo, direct-injected V8, and it was easy to recognize that they’d left a great deal of room to work with. Working with our technology partners in developing this P680 hardware, I believe we’ve made full use of this, and were able to build the type of Panamera many of us hoped Porsche would build,” according to Tym Switzer.

So what’s the price you have to pay to go as fast as a 911 Ruf in a Panamera? The P680 kit costs $22,000.
