Porsche Panamera S Wins Superstars Race

The most recent star in the Porsche lineup is leaving its mark on the racing world as well. True to its racing pedigree, a special version of the Porsche Panamera S, driven by Fabrizio Giovanardi, won the debut Superstars race in Mugello (28:55.886, 2.083 ahead of the runner up) . The win comes after the car started the race from pole position.

The Panamera and its driver managed to beat no less than five BMW M3 models and two Mercedes C63 AMG monsters. The car, owned by N.Technology, will now begin being upgraded in order to be transformed into a force to be reckoned at the Paul Ricard event on September 18-19.

"We decided to take part to this event of Mugello in order to face the most demanding test, I mean a whole racing-weekend, bringing the Porsche Panamera S to the debut on a technical and selective track as Mugello,” Mauro Sipsz, N.Technology team principal said in a statement.

This weekend's win marked the 149 time an N.Technology car has won a race in twenty years. The team has made a habit of transforming new comers into winners, after two other vehicles have achieved the same results over the years: Alfa Romeo 156 Super 2000 (Magny-Cours 2002) and Ferrari 575 GTC (Estoril, 2003).

“We are of course happy and very satisfied with the results: pole position and victory in Race 1, a good loot for the debut of our newest car!”
Sipsz added.

"The car has been competitive and reliable from the very beginning, demonstrating the validity of the whole project as well of the road car and awarding the work of the team, once again exceptional."
