Porsche Panamera S Hybrid Achieves 6.8 l/100km

The new Porsche Panamera S Hybrid is, by its name, a vehicle that combines high performance with impressive fuel efficiency figures and, as far as we're concerned, both are achieved quite easy. Porsche's new hybrid will develop a maximum power of 380 hp (279 kW), while it will burn only 6.8 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers (41.54 mpg). As for emissions, the Panamera S Hybrid releases only 159 grams of CO2 per kilometer, which means it achieves not only the best figure in its class but it also becomes the most economic Porsche of all time.

These impressive numbers were reached after the car was intensively tested with Michelin's lower rolling resistance all-season tires developed especially for the Panamera and offered as an option. Standard equipment figures remain impressive however, with fuel consumption of 7.1 l/100km (39.79 mpg) and 167 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

As for performance, well, the hybrid is breathtaking. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.0 seconds, while topping at a maximum speed of 270 km/h (168 mph). In driving mode alone, the car can travel for up to 2 kilometers (1.24 miles), with a maximum possible speed of 85 km/h (53 mph).

Panamera S Hybrid will be released in June 2011 and will cost EUR106,185 in Germany, including VAT and country-specific equipment. It will be displayed for the first time at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show in March.
