As we noticed during the decades and decades spent on the track, Porsche doesn’t like waiting in line. Thus, the carmaker couldn’t just wait for the weekend to come in order to put on its Le Mans return show. Instead, Porsche is paving the way with a limited edition model, the 911 S Martini Racing Edition.
In a nod to Porsche’s 1970s race cars, the 911 Carrera S is dressed in a Martini Racing Design decal set. The famous blue-red hue patters is spread over the boot lid, roof, rear wing, as well as on the sides of the coupe. As for the base color of the car, you can have this 911 in either White or Black.
Porsche’s 911 S Martini Racing Edition comes fitted with the Aerokit Cup, which means it wears a front apron lip spoiler and a fixed wing at the back.
Climbing aboard, we are greeted with red illuminated door sills, which wear the 911 Carrera S – Martini Racing Edition badge. The dash sports body color accents, while the paddle shifter-gifted sports steering wheel was chosen. The chronograph on the dash signals the presence of the Sport Chrono Package.
Technically speaking, this remains a Carrera S, which means the 3.8-liter flat six at the back deliver 400 hp, while the PDK gearbox and the Sport Plus mode allow the car to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds.
The special edition is already available, being offered in the following European markets: the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Finland and Great Britain. From August, the model also goes on sale in China, while October will mark its introduction on the Japanese and Latin American markets.
Porsche will only make 80 units of the 911 S Martini Racing Edition. If you won’t be able to get your hands on one or live in a country where this is not available, such as Germany, there’s still hope. The Martini decal set will be offered as an aftermarket kit, albeit only on “select 911 models". As for the rest of the car, you can simply chose a nearly identical setup when configuring your 911.
