There are people out there who find Porsche's 911 line-up, options included, as insufficient. With the Neunelfer range consisting of over twenty models (when in full action) without including the 911 racecars and Zuffenhausen being notorious for its infinite list of extras, this might be difficult to believe.
However, when you've fallen for the charms of a 911 GT3 RS PDK but you don't find its track-savvy nature enough for your needs, you can always turn to the aftermarket before checking out the motorsport incarnations of the rear-engined coupe, which would keep you pinned to the track.

With Dutch specialist K-M-P offering a quick-release steering wheel with racing functions for PDK-gifted 991-generation models, it was only a matter of time until somebody fitted such a piece of hardware to a GT3 RS.

So, why would you want to say goodbye to the airbag? Well, certainly not thanks to the Alcantara grip, since this is already present with the standard steering wheel. Nevertheless, the custom wheel, which is based on an OMP 330mm model, offers multiple functions you might find useful when flying from one vibrator to another on the track.

First of all, the Sport, Sport+ and PSM functions can be switched on and off straight from the wheel. Sure, Rennsport 911 comes with a different setup, offering a PDK Sport button instead of the Sport and Sport+ modes, but we expect this to have been taken into account - the dedicated buttons come with LEDs, so you won't be left wondering about the state of a certain feature.

The upper two buttons are basically open slots that you can choose to fill with whatever function you desire, while you can use the DIM button to set up the intensity of the LEDs mentioned above.

The wheel, which you can see in the image above, comes with its own carbon paddles, while also offering a quick-release system. The wheel comes with a curly wire, using plug and play wiring and a switch allowing the driver to choose between the controls on the wheel and those on the center console. Among others, this means you can return to your factory wheel whenever you feel like it.

Oh, and by the way, we noticed people who install such steering wheels also turn to Recaro buckets that make Porsche's available bucket seats seem like comfort creatures. In fact, you can check out a 911 GT3 RS PDK gifted with both these extras lapping Spa-Francorchamps in the clip below.

P.S.: The wheel also fits the 981 Cayman/Boxster.
