When it comes to machines such as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, one should never assume he or she has seen them all. For instance, after the tons and tons of 991 GT3 RS shades we've shown you, we've now come across an example that stands out not thanks to its color, but over the... odd stickers on its sides.
The GT3 RS PDK we have here is dressed in White, so, in terms of an attention battle, it wouldn't stand a chance against a Rubystone Red model, for instance. Nor could it match the visual aura of a wildly-wrapped Rennsport Neunelfer, such as the one we showed you earlier this year.
Nevertheless, as we mentioned above, it's the stickers on the side of the supercar that make it stand out, even among its own kind. To an untrained eye, the RS 4.0 badging on the doors might seem natural - after all, the rear end of this track-prepared coupe is occupied by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six.
However, these sticker badges (Porsche has taught us the lightweight importance of such decorations) are actually borrowed from the track special's predecessor, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0. The whole scheme, not just the "4.0"s, is lifted straight off the 997-generation GT3 RS swansong and this seems like a decision that's difficult to understand. To the best of our knowledge, these badges are not present in the Porsche Exclusive customization offer, so we're probably dealing with an aftermarket job here.
While we're at it, we can't help but mention the unfair match found in the image above - while the BMW M2, with our without the M Division's signature colors being displayed on it, is nothing short of a delight, placing it behind a GT3 RS will make it lose its aura.
