One of the reasons for which the Porsche 911 GT3 PDK is so awesome has to do with the dual character of the Neunelfer, which mixed daily usability with stunning track abilities.
Nevertheless, certain owners like to take their GT3s down the aftermarket path, aiming to tip the balance towards the circuit part of the supercar. Nevertheless, this can sometimes lead to oddball situations, such as the impromptu exhaust tuning seen on the Zuffemhausen machine we have here - we'll tip our helmets to Carspotterjeroenm for providing this photo.

Sure, you can't miss the plumbing work at the back of this Porsche 911 GT3, but what's the story behind it?

At first, one might expect the DIY exhaust to be connected to the Redneck Country Club sticker found on the bumper of the machine, but the reason behind the improvisation is a much simpler one - the GT3, which was snapped at Laguna Seca, was too loud for the track.

As those of you who have visited the challenging circuit know, Laguna Seca has a sound limit of 92 dB. Apparently, the aftermarket exhaust that had been fitted to this GT3 liked to sing louder than that.

And while the major motorsport events hosted on the track can disregard that limit, those engaging in Laguna Seca track day experiences can't. For the record, you'll find a sound booth while going out of Turn 5.

We have to admit the fact that our GT3 love is blind. In other words, despite the plumbing work on the tail of the 911 (and the smoked taillights, as some aficionados might add), we still adore this machine.

P.S.: The add-on exhaust we have here is nothing when compared to the stuff they use in the Swedish Time Attack Championship when the racecars' voices become too loud. No, really, this is nothing.
