The 911 Carrera GTS is probably the shortest lived and least known versions of the 997-generation Porsche 911. It was shown at the Paris Motor Show in September 2010, after which it went on sale a couple of months later.
That means it was only really available for about a year until the new boy arrived on the scene, the 991-generation 2012 Porsche 911.
The GTS combined the widebody look and track of the Carrera 4S with the the rear-wheel drive architecture of the purer Carrera S.
But perhaps its biggest selling point was the fact that its 3.8-liter flat-six had been tuned to produce 408 horsepower, 23 more than the Carrera S. Porsche did this while leaving fuel economy untouched.
One Carrera GTS has been fitted with a Akrapovic exhaust system that will work up a cold sweat. Just watch to this video by NM2255 and listen to the animalistic growl of the engine.
