Police Chief Wants Car Wrecks to Be Removed with the Dead Inside

Some people truly like to be in the center of attention and trigger controversial debates. This seems to be the case of the 53-year-old Welsh police chief Richard Brunstrom whose ideas make headlines every time.

After making public his zero tolerance  regarding speeding, now Brunstorm wants that fatal car wrecks are removed with their dead victim inside to avoid traffic congestion, The Daily Mail reported.

As he claims, the idea will boost the economy as roads will be reopened up to an hour earlier after such accidents. After each major accident, roads are closed until firemen manage to cut the roof off a vehicle and get the bodies blocked inside. Although  Brunstorm did not give such details of his proposal, it is assumed that the crashed cars will be removed only after paramedics confirmed that victims of the accidents were dead.

More importantly, the chief police officer came up with this proposal because in Wales there are only two major routes, the M4 corridor running out to the west coast and the A55 running through to Holyhead and both of them are prone to traffic congestion.

“The closure of either of those roads has a much bigger impact on our society and economy in Wales than an equivalent incident in England, simply because we have no alternative routes,” he explained.

Nevertheless, his idea wasn't highly welcomed by other police officers. “An alternative method is to put the vehicle on a low-loader, take it to a fire station where what we need to do can be done with dignity and in privacy and the road could be open perhaps an hour earlier,” claimed the Chief Constable of North Wales.

“We can get evidence we need, we can give dignity to the deceased and their families and we can get the economy moving,” he added.

As if  Brunstorm's idea wasn't freaky enough, the chief police officer had another proposal for the Welsh Assembly's enterprise and learning committee. In an effort to avoid crashes caused by drunk drivers and those under the influence of drugs, he suggested that the speed limit should be reduced to 20 mph across Wales.

Judging by his colleagues' reactions, we doubt his ideas will ever be put into practice.
