Polaris has released a new video teaser for its upcoming reverse trike, the Slingshot, and it looks like two more are on its way until the new machine will be officially unveiled, less than a fortnight from this day.
For some time now, Polaris has been rumored to work on a competitor for the exclusive three- and even four-wheeled machines offered by Campagna, KTM or Can-Am, and after the first sketches used for patenting made it into the media, imagination ran wild, while hopes were higher and higher.

While not exactly a secret any longer, the Slingshot project remains an affair Polaris managed to keep well-hidden to the eyes of the media and spy shot hunters. So far all there is to know on the Slingshot is that it will be powered by an engine supplied by GM, most likely a 2.4-liter EcoTec lump, according to the reports. The power unit should put the Slingshot customers in charge of 180 horsepower, with a 233 Nm (just under 172 lb-ft) torque, which, in case it turns out to be true, would make this vehicle really fun to ride.

Still no word on the drive system for the Slingshot, even though most people seem to expect a front-wheel drive architecture. Today Polaris is expected to release the 3rd video teaser, but the chances to get a really good glimpse of the Slingshot are dismal, as Polaris has been exceedingly careful to avoid revealing too much.

However, we got an almost decent shot of the dash, with a redline at 6,500 rpm, which puts the engine a tad closer to the high-performance automotive class, yet obviously far from the rev range of motorcycle power units. Enjoy the 13-day wait!

UPDATE: Polaris Slingshot will have RWD.
