Even though some might say that Pokemon is a stupid cartoon that’s been overhyped, it’s still a smash sensation around the world and has netted millions through all sort of gimmicky franchised toys and games. However, we’d never thought we’d see the day when Toyota would officially sanction a Pokemon-themed car.
For the 2012 Tokyo Toy Show, a new Porte kei car was taken from a Toyopet store (special Toyota dealerships for cheaper cars) and transformed into Pikachu, the most famous Pokemon of all time.

The Toyota Porte is the minivan equivalent of a small car, being equipped with a sliding door on the passenger side (the left).

The lunacy doesn’t stop there, Toyota also having transformed another car into Mijumaru, another Pokemon with a big brown nose and freckles. A lineup of scale models/toys is even available for both. Check them out in the video section below!

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
