You have to wonder what took Nintendo so long to launch the Pokemon Go. They had all the Pokemons for years, the smartphones have been with us for a long time as well, so what was it?
The idea? Well, yeah, we guess that's important as well, but it's hard to believe all those brainiacs there couldn't figure it out sooner. The human alienation isn't a secret - just look at the success Facebook is having - so offering them a game that plays in the real world, but somehow manages to take them further away from it should have been their top priority.
Nevertheless, it's here now, and we have to prepare for the worst. It may be totally benign as long as kids and children play it in the park, but when grown-ups get a taste for it, that's when it starts to become dangerous. That's because grown-ups are a lot more stressed and have considerably less time than the young ones, so they'll do stupid things to play the game.
Things like looking for virtual fantasy creatures with weird names while driving. There were this guy who did it and ended up in a tree, and another one who is still looking for his thing to crash into, but rest assured: they're not the only ones.
And then there are the pedestrians who suddenly lose touch with reality and only see Snorlaxes and Charizards. Take this guy for example. He's sitting in the middle of the road with his back turned to the traffic, all engulfed into his smartphone. Of course, he has a good reason for it, and you're going to hear it the second the driver sounds his horn.
Yes, this is "fake," but it's a totally plausible situation. Apart from the mooning at the end and perhaps the excessive use of the f-word, this could happen to you too. We just hope you'll be as patient as this driver, even though we doubt it. If you choose to hit play (which we strongly encourage), be warned: offensive language and some mild male nudity. But quite a few laughs to be had as well.
