The Pikes Peak Hill Climb was set to start on July 8th, but due to the massive wild fires that have recently swept the area surrounding the venue’s location, around Colorado Springs, the decision to move it forward one month has been taken, and, thus, it will now start on the 12th of August.
This is, in fact, good news, as the possibility of canceling this year’s edition of the famous hill climb event was seriously considered. However, following the natural disaster in the area, the teams and drivers are reportedly working to set up an aid fund for the inhabitants, as well as those who battled the raging fires, and it will include donations from anybody who is willing to give.
If you were wondering, yes, tickets bought prior to the decision are still accepted, however, the holders now have the option of donating their tickets to the aforementioned fund, if they so choose.
